At Dukes we are happy to go out of our way to welcome families to our luxurious bed and breakfast and offer families convenient central Bath accommodation. All of our 17 bedrooms are named after Dukes. The Norfolk, Beaufort and Athol suites and the Roxburghe with the Somerest suite next door are all suitable for families of four. The Norfolk in particular is a great family room with a king-sized bed in the main room and a separate sitting area that may easily accommodate two additional children’s beds or cots. We welcome well behaved additional family members – with open arms and we cater for young babies and children, providing high chairs and cots as needed.
When it comes to breakfast there is ample choice, from the ‘Classic British’ cooked breakfast to the Continental with sweet pastries and slices of cold meats and cheese and plenty of cereals which should keep the little ones in your party happy. Once fed on a hearty breakfast, prepared by our professionally trained chef, everyone in the family should be ready for a full day of action packed fun in the centre of Bath.

Bath is a very compact city and with Dukes offering such ideal central Bath accommodation you are ideally placed to explore the city with the family. Access by road and especially by foot is particularly easy, making travelling with smaller children who still require pushchairs that much more convenient.
There are plenty of family friendly parks, restaurants, cafes, and many of the main attractions in Bath city centre are geared towards family entertainment. Victoria Park which is one of the most delightful parks in Bath with its ornate statues, floral displays and ponds is just lovely to stroll around. If you are with children then the park has much more to offer than just a ‘stroll in the park’ as there are several tennis courts, a crazy golf course and bowling green; and if you have teenage children then there is a pitch and putt golf course. For really young children, there is a playground with climbing frames and swings and for the keen skateboarder in the family then the park boasts the Bath Vert Skate Park which is well regarded by skating enthusiasts.
Attractions and festivals are plentiful here and there is a wonderful Children’s Bath Literature Festival which takes place from September to October. The festival is popular with families and attracts leading children's book authors and illustrators; Lauren Childs is well renowned for her attendance. The Literature festival is the largest in the UK and attracts people and authors worldwide offering over 80 separate ticketed events for young ones to enjoy.
Christmas is also a fabulous time to visit Bath with the family. The Christmas festivities highlights include the Christmas Market and events which run from late November through December each year are a very magical affair.
