Terms & Conditions (the small print)
Our Terms and Conditions are for the benefit of all guests. As such we are receptive to your individual needs. Where these do not impact the pleasure of others we will seek to entertain your request.
Check in and Check out
Our check in time is from 2pm. Check out is by 11am. By prior arrangement we are happy to store your luggage.
Parking
We seek to offer complimentary residential parking permits for the duration of your residential stay at Dukes. One of the great attractions of our location is the opportunity to park the car and explore the city on foot.
Please confirm your parking permit requirement at the time of booking. We have ample parking permits - however there availability is not guaranteed. Cars and their contents are parked entirely at the owners’ risk.
Breakfast
Monday to Friday breakfast will be freshly prepared and served from 7:30am until 9:30am.
Saturday and Sunday breakfast will be a slightly more relaxed affair with service running from 8am until 10am.
Rooms
We offer a broad range of room sizes and bed configurations. A number of our rooms may be made up as twins, equally a number are able to accommodate additional facilities.
We have a supply of temporary foldaway beds and foldaway cots for young families.
- Foldaway beds with breakfast for those over 12 - £40
- Foldaway beds with breakfast for those under 12 - £20
- Foldaway cots, with or without breakfast from us - £20
Children, Pets, Hens and Stag Parties
We welcome well behaved children and well managed dogs, of all ages. Our premises are less able to accommodate other species, except by prior agreement.
The Grade 1 listed nature of Dukes tends to render the accommodation unsuitable for Hen and Stag parties. More discrete and intimate flocks and herds are invited to contact us and we will endeavour to accommodate your celebration.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that ‘things happen’ and that you may not be able to join us as planned.
In order to avoid frustration we would ask you to note; all cancellations need to be made in writing and received by us 7 days prior to the date of your 2pm check in.
You need written acknowledgement from Dukes that we have received your cancellation request. If we do not contact you by return we would ask that you assume that we have not received your message. Once we acknowledge your cancellation request we will endeavour to re- book your room. Assuming that we are successful, there will be no charge. On the occasion that we re-let your room at a lower or discounted rate we will charge your card with the shortfall.
Cancellation within 48 hours of your planned arrival date is likely to provoke a full charge being made to your card.
A ‘no show’ for reasons within or beyond your control will result in a full charge to your card.
In view of this we would encourage you to liaise with us in a clear, direct and timely manner. We would advise that you give consideration to taking out travel insurance.
