A Guide to Mother’s Day 2020 in Bath
23 February 2020
This year Mother’s Day will be on Sunday March 22nd, and if you’re planning on treating your Mum with a weekend away in Bath then these are some of the things you might want to do together while you’re here.
As well as year-round favourites like a visit to the Roman Baths, or afternoon tea at the Pump Rooms, Bath has some special events planned for this Mother’s Day.
Green Park Brasserie will be hosting a Mother’s Day Sunday roast (expect locally sourced food prepared with care and expertise), while just next door at Green Park Station there will be a vintage market to browse for unique items of clothing from years gone by. Whether you’re sentimental and looking to reminisce on years gone by, or whether you’re looking to find your next statement piece of clothing, this could be a lot of fun. Booking for Green Park Brasserie on the 22nd is strongly advised.
Alternatively, you might like to try Brown’s Bath for Sunday lunch. As well as a great menu of food, cocktails, and champagne to enjoy (the White Chocolate Sphere on the dessert menu has particularly caught our eye), there will also be a pianist providing live music throughout the day.
One of the things that a lot of people want to do when they come to Bath, and quite rightly so, is to visit the Thermae Spa. The flipside of that being that it can get rather busy at the weekends, and this is one reason why we recommend that you book in advance.
Our top package recommendation is the Saturday and Sunday Taster. This is available, as the name suggests, on Saturdays and Sundays only, can be booked for entry from 10am onwards, and is £57 for one person, or £105 for two.
The thing to take special note of with the Saturday and Sunday Taster is that it can is only available to book in advance and over the phone (01225 33 1234). It includes:
- 3-hour spa session
- Use of towel, robe & slippers
- Choice of one dish from the menu in the onsite Springs Restaurant
- Choice of a glass of specially selected wine, beer, juice or water
If you mum is less keen on spas, or if you went to the spa on the Saturday and have the Sunday free, then anyone who has a mother with green-fingers might like to drive the short distance to the Bishop’s Palace and Garden in Wells. As well as a lovely place to look around anyway, on the 22nd from 10-4 there will be a rare plant fair with unusual plants from a variety of nurseries for sale.
