Visiting Bath In October 2019 – Upcoming Events in Bath
20 October 2019
If you’re due to be in Bath, or would like to book a last minute Bath city break for this coming weekend, then these are some of the special events taking place which we can recommend.
On Friday night, see Rambert.
(Rambert, Bath Theatre Royal, October 24th-26th)
- the “In Your Rooms” section of the show being dubbed as “probably the most important new dance-work to be created in Britain since the millennium” by the Observer, this new show, titled Rambert, is a must-see if you enjoy contemporary dance. However, we’d also recommend it for fans of ballet and fine music. Three incredibly talented choreographers have brought together three very different pieces to create a distinctive and magical evening of music and dance.
It will run at Bath Theatre Royal from the Thursday to the Saturday at 7:30pm, with additional matinees on the Friday and Saturday at 2:30pm.
On Saturday, learn how to make your own drypoint prints.
(A Print Making Workshop for Adults, Holburne Museum, October 26thonly)
Inspired by the temporary exhibitions “Rembrandt in Print” and “Matisse: Master of Line”, which will be on display at the Holburne Museum at this time, this full-day workshop (10:30am-4:30pm at the Holburne Museum) will teach you how to make a drypoint print.
We’re not sure of the ins and outs of it, but it looks highly intriguing, and involves soft metal plates, specialist tools, and a portable press! Certainly a good event to go to if you like crafts.
On Sunday, explore Beckford’s tower with a guided tour.
(Beckford’s Tower and Lansdown Cemetery Tour, October 26th-27th)
A chance to explore Beckford’s Tower and hear about why the building was made and what treasures it contained will be the focus of this guided tour and trail. This will be one of the events taking place in Bath as part of the fantastic national event which is Museums Week.
The one-hour tour will run at 11am and 3pm on both the 26thand the 27th.
