In And Around Bath At Christmas
6 December 2017

To visit the Christmas Market in Bath is definitely a good reason to come to Bath, but it’s certainly not the only winter delight that the city has to offer. These are just a taste of some of the other winter wonders in Bath this season…

Ice Skating in the Park

Bath has its own winter-season outdoor ice rink. Open from 10:30am until 9:30pm every day (except on Christmas day) until January 2nd. Each ticket includes skate hire and one hour on the ice. You do not have to pre-book, but it’s strongly recommended to book in advance (especially in the evening and on weekends) to make sure of your time slot.

Glow in the Dark Golf

From 4:30 until 9:30 each evening until January 2nd, Bath’s marvellous adventure golf course in Victoria Park will be lit up in glorious style ready for glow in the dark golf. The course will be open for daytime, non-glow games too from 10:30 each day, but if you want a bit of festive fun then an evening game is the way to go.

The Gourmet Picture Company

Staying in Victoria Park, we come to the work of the Gourmet Picture Company. From the 14th of December until January 7th they will bringing the delicious work of Tom Kerridge and Rick Stein to Bath to be enjoyed as part of a luxury dinner-and-a-movie experience. There will be a huge variety of films shown across the three week residency, including favourites such as Love Actually and Casablanca, La La Land and The Great Gatsby. The Gourmet Picture Company marquee will be located to the east of Royal Victoria Park on lower common, it’s a closed marquee with heaters, and blankets - so will be cosy!

A cosy cinema with a three-course gourmet meal. Perfect!

Film and Bath Philharmonia

The Snowman is a Christmas classic, and Bath Philharmonia will be playing live accompaniment to it in this special Christmas screening on December 22nd. The film is powerful normally, but with a live orchestra playing the score it’s taken to the next level.

An added bonus this year is that The Bear, another hit seasonal animation by Raymond Briggs and Howard Blake, will be shown after The Snowman as one half of the double feature.

A Night at Komedia

Each Thursday, Friday and Saturday night throughout December, Komedia will be hosting their ever-popular Krater Christmas Party Events (you don’t need to be attending a Christmas party to go, singles, couples and groups of friends are just as welcome). The nights include a three-course meal, a fantastic line-up of comedy - with two top stand-ups and a compere, as well as an after-show disco so you can dance until late! Tickets for just the show minus the meal are also available. An ever-popular night and certainly one we can recommend.
