Visit Bath and Visit the Bath Gin and Rum Festival
30 July 2019

Bath has numerous excellent bars which you might like to visit during your stay in Bath. The Dark Horse (a cocktail bar with a cool vibe and a speakeasy atmosphere) and the Canary Gin bar (a snug bar which is proudly quirky), are just a couple of our favourites.

However, for the serious gin and rum lovers, the upcoming Bath Gin and Rum Festival is a must.

On Friday August the 9th, and Saturday August the 10th, Bath pavilion will host the UK’s largest Gin and Rum Festival as it tours the UK. There are set to be over sixty different gins and sixty different rums to taste, and a host of themed bars to visit during the event.

Included in the ticket price, as well as entrance to the event, are a range of extras, including the branded event glass, gin and rum guide, and event satchel (to keep your glass in). What looks particularly of interest for those who like to experiment with new cocktails are the talks and master classes which will be given by the best gin and rum producers. While for those who like to dance when they’re drinking cocktails, throughout the day the event’s award-winning resident DJ will be playing music “from all genres”.

This all sounds good to us, and we’re intrigued to see what the “great live entertainment” will be.

If this sounds like your kind of event, then tickets can be bought from the Eventbrite website and are £13.34.

We did wonder at the remarkably low price, and then read that, sadly, this price doesn’t include unlimited drinks (if only), but all drinks have a set cost of £5, which for cocktails is pretty good. Although, if you’re more intrigued by the master classes and entertainment, it could be a very good deal, as soft drinks and mixers will be unlimited and free throughout the event.
