Visit Bath and Visit Bath Theatre Royal – March
25 February 2019

When you visit Bath a visit to the Bath Theatre Royal is an excellent idea. As well as being incredibly grand, it has a marvellous history behind it – although that’s a subject for another time. We will just add that should you wish to hear more about the history of Bath’s Theatre Royal during your stay in Bath, you can book a backstage tour through the theatre’s website. The next tour will be on the 16thof March and runs from 11am to 12pm.

If on the other hand you’d like to see a show during your stay in Bath, there are some excellent shows coming up at the Theatre this month.

First on the programme is the Olivier Award-winning comedy ‘Stones In His Pockets’. Running from March the 11thuntil March the 16th, the story centres around a small village in rural Ireland which in thrown into uproar when a major Hollywood film studio come to stay to film a new historical blockbuster. As well as an Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, the show was also nominated for three Tony awards on Broadway!

The next show to the stage is ‘Glengarry Glen Ross’ – a modern classic with a biting view on the greed of corporations. The action centres around an office of cut-throat Chicago salesmen, who are pitched against each other in a high stakes game to see who can sell the most real estate. The winner gets a Cadillac, the loser gets fired. Keeping your tactics legal is a minor consideration. ‘Glengarry Glen Ross’ is on from the 18thof March until the 23rdof March.

The final play for March is another hit comedy. ‘Caroline’s Kitchen’ sees the nation’s favourite TV chef, Caroline Mortimer (with her successful career, large house, clever children, and loving husband), facing a few uncomfortable truths in the midst of her perfect world. An unexpected guest comes to dinner one night and disrupts a celebration, and Caroline’s whole life. ‘Caroline’s Kitchen’ is at the Theatre Royal from the 25thof March until the 30th.

We hope you can come for a stay in Bath this March and enjoy a show. This month is definitely one for going to the theatre!
